August 24 & 25, 2011: Ainu Culture Seminars in Sapporo, Hokkaido


A series of workshops and seminars on Ainu culture will be held tomorrow and the day after in Sapporo at the Hokkaido Citizens Activites Promotion Center ("Kaderu 2.7"). This is week two of the series, whereas week one was held July 27 through 30 (before we started posting events on this blog!).

“Ainu Culture Seminars Week 2”

These seminars aim to help spread further knowledge about Ainu traditions by targeting educators and members of the general public that have some basic knowledge about Ainu culture and traditions.

“Two Sakhalin Ainu that Went to the South Pole 100 Years Ago“
Instructor: Masato Tamura (Curator, Historical Mueum of Hokkaido)
